I feel like my life is about to restart after a 4 year rut, since an 8 year job is ending.
I'm actually almost as excited as I am terrified.  But, I'm really scared.

Everything's going to change...  I have grown so complacent, I don't want this ):

Maybe apocryphal, but I've heard it said he had the USSR's anti-religious initiatives give the Georgian Orthodox Church significantly more leeway than anywhere else solely because it would have upset his mother.

The Georgian Orthodox Church was suppressed just as brutally as any other religious organization until Stalin pulled back on "you will be atheist or you will be DEAD" policies in 1943 in the hope that the churches would increase a nationalist spirit during the war. The post-Stalin USSR never managed to make state atheism stick as well as Stalin did, but they tried very hard until the seventies.

Shouldn't make you feel terrified. Car is a nice faraday's cage, one of the safer places to be in in a thunderstorm. That is, when it's properly grounded.
You're safer in a car than you'd be in some houses.
