I tripped while sitting down and thought I was going to die because my head would have come down eye-first onto the corner of my desk if I hadn't caught myself
Don't worry, the human eye is surprisingly sturdy, so the most probable worst case scenario is that you'd lose the eye and have to have an eyepatch
Can you imagine explaining that to your grandkids?

"How'd you lose your eye, gramps? A murder of crows? War? Pirates? A war with a murder of pirate crows?"
"Nah, I tripped."
I knew this old guy who wore an eyepatch because he tripped and hit his eye on the corner of the table and was deaf in one ear because as a kid he put a pea in his ear and popped his eardrum trying to get it out

Spiders decided to come down and violate the covenant of the room.* There's now at least one dead spider, but tonight I sleep in the guest room, because fuck shit damn hell goddamn spiders crawling on me and now I nope the fuck out and come back with violations of the Geneva convention.

*The pact was thus: You don't touch me, I won't purge your existence through brute kinetic force and chemical annihilation. Tomorrow things become biblical for the formerly unobtrusive arachnids.
Strike them down and your loyal servants shall be replaced by a plague of biting flying things and things that crawl on the earth to feast on your flesh

Speak for yourself. I know my mosquitos respect the blood pact. I think I've been bitten once in the last three months, despite having a large number of mosquitos in my room.

Either that, or I'm actually a vampire. Your choice.

You were bitten by a vampire mosquito. Now you too prowl the night in search of blood.

He's a guy, though (IIRC). So he prowls the night in search of flower nectar.

Hah, you're all fools. The insect demons no longer dare cross the threshould into my realm, or else not only do they have to face the might of the One Chair, but they must also deal with my heavenly host of geckos, who devour their unholy flesh.

Seriously though, I have gecko crawling on the walls of my room (specially behind the wardrobe) and I'm ok with it. So far I haven't seen a single insect in my room ever since the damn thing became my roomate. Bless you and your family, Mr Gecko.

In the not so grimdarkness of the TempAcc home, there is only geckos.

Hey, your history has shown that you're a brilliant kid, so let's give you the illusion of choice opportunity to take two classes during the summer so you can prepare to graduate junior year. We don't need to address the fact that you've barely made it past this year, and the only field you've prepared to go into requires at least some degree of proficiency in your worst subject (math), and the fact that you barely speak to people unless you think it's absolutely required. You don't need silly things like good grades or the ability to get over social anxiety, because we think that you're special.

Just kill me now.

Good grades actually do not matter that much, yeah. Social stuff, on the other hand...

I know this sounds ridiculous but I was (and still am) deathly scared of latex balloons. I hate the sound they make when you rub them, the way they feel, and especially when they pop. My parents never figured out why I hated them so much but ever since I was 2 or 3, I have been terrified of them. I can do the foil kind but not latex.

I remember being pretty damn terrified of balloons popping when I was a kid.
Can't remember if the fear was bad enough to ruin my overall enjoyment of balloons, but I wouldn't be surprised.
