We 1981 now.

Isn't that a reactionary conspiracy-theorist website?

...uh. Maybe? I admit I'm unfamiliar with the site. Maybe I fell for some false info.

I'm looking for other news articles on it but not finding anything.

Yeah, it's in that ballpark.

Yeah, it's in that ballpark.

Guess I'll never take any news article on the internet seriously ever again.

Replacing Graphics Card and PSU for the 1st time. I know, 24 and first time I've swapped out hardware. Usually let things get to the point where so much needs replacing that a new Desktop is just easier. CPUs haven't advanced enough in the last few years to justify that whilst GPUs have flown ahead. So I went for a GTX 970 and 600w PSU (from a 660 and 450w), should not need upgrade for awhile and when it does should give the freedom.

The 24 pin connector for the PSU in the motherboard is a complete git to take out. I eventually figured the trick is to pull it out by the cable, not trying to pull the actual connector itself out. But was legitimately terrified I was going to snap the motherboard.

Oh man, wait until you have to change the CPU. It's utterly nerve-racking. Since the pins are really fragile and you have to force the CPU onto the mounting and it makes a crunching sound because the top deforms to make a secure fit. Absofuckinglutely terrifying to do.

As a person who recently built their own computer, I can confirm this. And it gets even more nerve racking if you are applying your own aftermarket liquid silver once it's in instead of just using the basic thermal compound already on your cooler, because you are essentailly spreading this liquid metal onto your CPU (which has warning about how it can damage other parts of your computer), trying to get it as evenly spread as possible (tinting it, for those of you who have done this before), then wiping it all off with coffee filters and putting another little dab. It can be very nerve-racking.

Ahaha I've wrecked like... three, four computers by tinkering with the hardware and screwing something up. It's quite the experience.

I have another of those hellish, unbearable group appointments with my employment agency tomorrow morning.
I am considering staying up super late so that I am dead-on-my-feet tired for it, and thus less aware of the horrors of the situation. Although then I'd probably sleep through my alarm or some such bullshit... after this appointment (assuming I survive) I need to change agencies for sure.

Apparently all of their appointments are group meetings, so this just ain't gonna work out. D:

Perhaps, but I've seen just about everything stated in that article reported elsewhere, largely in the BBC and New York Times. That article is far less biased than some of The Guardian's articles on the same issue. Thing is, at this point all the right wing has to do is tell the truth.

And yet that's the one thing that's so difficult for them.
