I've just had a situation with a girl that decided that since I normally am friendly and don't look threatening, she can treat me like shit (spoiler alert: wrong), so I'm not 100% objective here ATM, but still.

A simile (?) for that: Imagine looking at a beautiful person, in profile. And then they turn their head and you see the other side of their face is completely burned up, with nothing but scar tissue left.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

Doesn't apply cuz scars are cool. Being confrontational and borderline (or otherwise i guess) abusive isn't.

Just how religious are we talking here?

the "know thy enemy" lie is a useful one, if you think you can swing it, but it works best if you take the initiative instead of waiting for the thing to be discovered

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Distract her by claiming Dawkins has caused you to see the light of Mormonism. Use her abject disbelief as prep time and flee to Svalbard for the remainder of your life.

Married people tend to live longer and happier for a reason, after all.

More likely to have someone around to call for an Ambulance? :)

I'd be willing to wager money that that's probably the biggest part of it.

Maybe tell her you carry it around so people won't think you're an ISIS sympathizer

Well, pretty much religious, but it is not like the version of islam with  grandgrandad  reading Quran every day and trying to give 20 % of his income to those less lucky  then him.
It is more about :
Not knowing anything about islam at all.
I have supreme understanding of life, u no nothin, u get ur knowledge from bad literature, you are not conservative, you dont like traditional values, those people, they dont get value of religion. I am always right.
All your problems in life are because of your lack of faith. ( somehow using her own logic and implying, that your problems with own children are not my fault, as it is how Allah wants things to be ends up with rants about me making  foul blasphemies)
You should have gone for theology degree
Constantly attributing quote ,,Beat your children in their youth so you dont get ashamed, when they grow up" to Peter the great, implying that great man dont tells shit.(I could never find the source of this quote however)

There's a passage like that in the Bible (basically "discipline your children so they don't grow up to be colossal dickweeds"), but I can't remember if it was Peter or Paul or someone else, and I have no idea if Peter the Great is the same as the apostle Peter.

:P

Though to be fair, theology is a pretty worthless degree unless you're going through seminary.
