Isn't the whole human thing good long-range running efficiency?

Humans actually beat horses over longer distances, mainly because of the ability to sweat to cool down. A fast horse might have a top speed of 60 km/h, but it'll still take more than 3 hours to run 40 kilometers on a hot day, while an athletic human can do it in less.

I don't always murder spiders, but when I do, it's because they're a fucking brown recluse.

I at least attempted to identify the poor bastard before slaughtering it. It *might* have been from a species that just looks similar, but I'm not taking that chance. Bad evolutionary move for that species if that's the case.

Did you ever think about attaching masts with sails to your car?
- Ecological? - 300 % ecological
- Style points? - You push them to the limit
- Good for pirate cosplay? - Yarr matey
- Laws about taxing car ownage usually check for power of engine, so you just broke free from some taxes.May be you can also legally avoid some more laws with your car getting land ship status, like you can own telescopic baton here, if you have documents stating, that your telescopic baton is not a weapon, but a device for catching fish.
- Also you can call yourself captain, captain Loud Whispers.
No jokes I would if the wind was reliable. There's a reason why I'd rather have a boat with a sail and engine than one only with one.

For those times when there isn't enough natural wind to push the sails, we put a giant fan on the car to create wind whenever required. That works, right? :P

And if you have the fan also blowing a small wind turbine, it even powers itself!

That's also why I would rather have a ship with motor, sail, and oars, rather than one with just two.

I don't think you quite grasp the idea of Piratecar. No wind? Just hoist ye grappling hookes into nearby motorised cars. Now yarr be thinking with piracy!

Do I even need to link the xkcd for this?

I don't think I want to end up facing the broadside of a Spanish or British man of car for trying to steal someone else's commuting power

Hm, it wouldn't break the rules of a piratecar if we added an ethanol-powered engine to it. That is, oars used after getting some liquid courage from a pirate's obligatory bottle o' rum. Yes, one can in fact move a car with oars. Anyone who thinks otherwise hasn't had enough rum.

Why not just install a rowing machine to power your piratecar with a bottom-deck full of rowers?
