Funnily enough this is kinda sad for the bees. Bee stings work great against insects, since the weaker shell allows for them to sting repeatedly. On the other hand things like mammals (which probably won't die from a single sting) have thicker skin so it forces them into a "probably only get 1 sting before death" type of scenario. The whole suicide squad thing is just a doubly ineffective use of using a weapon not originally intended for use on mammals against them.

So basically Hitler made bees extinct

In some bees the barbed stinger is deliberate, in others they are not and they can keep stinging even mammals repeatedly
