It's a pretty good rule of thumb to assume that a lot of stuff at insect size either couldn't give less of a crap about you if you don't bother them, or they're terrified of this giant monster, and try to scare you off.

Doesn't stop me from being afraid of bees, though, and none of that shit applies to Africanised Honey bees, those bastards are vicious.

Fuck africanized bees, wasps, and hornets, but honeybees are chill. As long as you don't actively tick em' off, they'll avoid stinging you if at all possible.

Yeah, heck, mud daubers helped me get the missus less afraid of "bugs" in general. She's still got a pretty deep seated thing about roaches/palmetto bugs, though nowadays she just leaves the room and finds me instead of letting out a "RWAAAIIIUUUAAAGGGHHH!!!!" yelpscream thing.

When we would be in the pool at the apartments now and then you'd see a dauber get stranged trying to get a bit of water for their little mud balls. I showed her that you can just raise your hand up under them and they'll sit there drying off, buzz their wings and fly off happily. Only took a couple times before she was doing it herself and showing others.

She ALMOST felt ready to let Mrs. Elvira crawl over her hand, she's not actually scared of spiders, it's just that she IS a couple inches across and very dramatic looking, so I wasn't gonna push it, but she did help me take pictures of her like a champ.

I'm not terrified, just mildly anxious, but this is the closest I could come to a thread for it.

Moving into university Halls today. Hopefully will be fun. Can't be too bad, right? Right....?

@Loudwhisperninja; Wait, what?

There's this goddamn enormous spider in my basement. I've encountered it a few times in the last several days, always unexpectedly and with some part of my body uncomfortably close to it. The thing is downright huge, and may very well be a Brown Recluse, judging by my minimal use of google to research relative appearances. I'm not actually sure what to do about it, since killing it on suspicion of being venomous seems impolite, but I'd rather not leave it to wander around.

I think I'm losing my mind. I misplaced my room key in my room earlier and couldn't find it. About an hour later it's in the spot which I already looked and verified the key wasn't there.

It's. Like. In an obvious spot. And I already searched it.

No, the cats aren't trying to eat these ones.

eyyy there, I'll let you know, hornets are pretty cool brosgals themselves. Well, at least European ones. Unlike wasp who would start off as annoying and go into full u fooking giggle me m8 mode if just just but try to hush them away, hornets would rather politely move away from the hand if you approach them. And just not bother you or your food in general. So yeah, hornets are my brosgals, you don't talk shit about them.

Of course, they do have the tendency to get confused and suicidal as the autumn approaches and can drone around sources of lights long into the nights if given the chance.

Oh they know. Spiders are not stupid. They've just got disproportionally huge balls.
