Some can't seem to bear the strain and resist the effects. 

And some, given a chance to climb, they refuse. They cling to the realm, or the gods, or love. Illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is.

A person I used to work for that is very difficult to work with, and is a bit of an ass, but tends to pay well, offered me a job.

I currently have a job, which is not a bad one, but the pay is not that great.

I have no idea whether to go for the new one, stay with the old, or try to shift things so I can try to do both and potentially burn myself out.

How can someone just decide to completely stop practicing hygiene?

I asked my mom about the unhygienic person I mentioned earlier, and she said that the person has pretty much stopped looking after themselves. They don't bathe, and have been wearing the same outfit since at least the beginning of the new year's day. Hasn't washed it once either.

The smell is a multitude of things. Not bathing, not washing their clothes, and not even washing their hands after using the washroom. They may not even wipe after taking a shit. Don't know, but I know they don't flush. Even in other people's houses. Even in their client's houses.

They clean houses for a living. How could someone keep their job like that? This person may be the least hygienic person I know.

That makes me wonder even more about how people exactly plan to survive global warming.
Like, I know global warming doesn't necessarily mean everything is hot, but just imagining a 324 K temperature during 3 months of summer makes me sweat nervously. In winter.
