The last time I asked Arx a question based on a post of his, I was told Google (Not by him).

All happened at SONA (state of the nation address).

It's complicated and I don't know all of it, but the EFF (radical opposition party, something like 5% of the votes at the last election which makes them third most popular) were demanding that Zuma (president) say when he would be repaying the R200mil that was spent on Nkandla (his private homestead). He refused to answer the question, and the EFF continued chanting. They were asked to leave and refused. They were then removed by Parliamentary security. One of the DA (main oppostion party) MPs then asked whether there were SAPS (police service) officers in the group of people doing the removal, and the person they asked evaded the question. The DA chief whip then repeated the question, noting the constitutional significance, and the answer was yes. The entire DA walked out of Parliament.

Also foreign nationals are no longer allowed to own land and signal was blocked to the media booth during the start of the address. I'm not joking.

Editedit: Oh yeah, and DA protesters were arrested and dispersed with a fucking water cannon before the address.

You can tell I'm worried about this because I've sworn twice in the last two posts.

I... kinda don't get it.
What's the use of blocking signal to the media booth if the entirety of the address is going to be availiable one way or another? That's just weird.
Isn't enforcing security at these kinds of events usually done by police or various special services? I'm not familiar with the constitution of South Africa, so what would the constitutional significance be?
Are the guys in red the EFF MPs in question?

The point is that the police removing people is a major violation of the constitution. Mmusi Maimane (DA candidate for Premier of Gauteng, one of the provinces) made an apparently very good speech about it outside Parliament; basically, if the police are involved in violation of the constitution today, there is nothing stopping the army being involved tomorrow.

Edit: yeah, the guys in red are the MPs. Also, preventing the media from using the internet during the address is pretty major.
