I think he meant "Summer weather setting the neighbourhood on fire doesn't make summer weather any more desirable", rather then "I tried setting the neighbourhood on fire to make summer weather more desireable and it didn't work". Although it was sort of ambiguously worded.

Yeah, there was a big ol' fire yesterday not too far from my house. No-one was hurt AFAIK, but it's pretty scary nonetheless.
