Given the whole situation in Honduras, I doubt their mental health care system is better than the US's. Plus it's not like she can force them to see a counselor, being a minor and all.
Yep. I don't think she thinks her attitude is bad (she has only admitted to being over-stresed, sometimes), and I'm not gonna be the one to tell her, either.
Nobody does things that are bad in their viewpoint--most are either unaware that what they're doing has really bad connotations, or that they do what they do because that's the only thing they know how to do; before any judgement is to be given, the 'the only thing they know how to do' mostly pertains to either how they were raised, or what experiences they have had in the past--if a better solution is given, mostly all people would take that [hence why many move towards better attitudes or try to improve themselves. In the case of 'I don't want to change', it means that there's something in the meaning of doing the change, or between their current state and the change that doesn't make it happen--if the change is good]
They must be
aware and see for themselves what they're doing (like what you quoted about your dad there--its modified by the emotions to latch onto the one thing poking it, for example; things in breakdowns tend towards extremes, and sometimes not really what the person intends to say or mean at all).
Meaning: Inquire to a (school) counselor,
yourself, on how you can handle the situation. 'Handle' not necessarily meaning 'I'll solve it myself', but how you can handle
yourself when in those situations, and how you may communicate with them to help them (what I mean is, in communication--there are
tons of ways to deliver an idea, and tons more ways to diffuse a heated situation; knowing what to say and how to say things is a good thing to learn).
...I'm unsure if parental consent is needed to go to the counselor. I'm noting from personal experience--given that I have free time in between my classes, I just pop into the Guidance Office and inquire as to the schedules of the counselors and when I can best meet them on their time. So...yeah.
I'm totally messy with my English at times. Sorry. Please say if messy. x_x
