I'm now going 200km away from home for a job interview where I'm still confused as to why they gave my profile a second glance.

That is a long way. Did you bring snacks? I hope you went to the bathroom before you left - public toilets are pretty nasty. I suppose you could use a shrub or something instead.

I was trying to perform a frontflip on my trampoline and land standing. During one of my jumps, I apparently pushed myself off in the wrong way. I found myself flyind down and forward quickly with my head pointing in the direction of my motion. My head obviously hit the trampoline first, and as it did I heard my neck creak, and then the sound spread downwards through my spine rather quickly. Then, while the cracking continued I slid forward, and my head was twisted to the side and sort of tucked into an awkward position. My arm also appeared to have twisted a bit. I then proceeded to slide across the trampoline in this awkward posture, which led to even more twisting and caused a lot of momentary pain.

After this I seem to have lost my ability to perform an average frontflip out of fear of getting facetrampoline again. Oh, well. I guess another day.

But yeah, the pain went away after a few short minutes, and now I just have this lingering neck and arm small pain, so nothing really damaging seems to have happened.

My friend kneed himself in the face and broke his nose while doing a frontflip :^)

Self-kneeing of the nose is far more frequent than one might imagine. A couple of acquitances of mine had it happen too.

So the general terrorism/extremism situation is bad enough (in her opinion) that my normally incredibly anti-gun mother was seriously suggesting the possibility of my brother and I getting shooting lessons.

I'm not sure how to feel about this.

You can still take shooting lessons even if you never plan on pointing a gun at another living thing in your life, you know. Shooting can actually be kind of fun, so long as it's done safely.

It's a bit different to training with the intent to be able to kill someone, though.
