doxxing, mostly, and then things like 4chan where that info can be distributed among angry young men who want nothing more than to hurt women, The likelihood of a physical altercation is small, but if you cross the wrong dude, your life will still be hell for quite awhile.

Rape and murder threats online and through the phone, releasing SS and bank account numbers, address, place of work, etc.

and yea, that's the problem. I am running 7 atm. I refuse to move on to 8 because it is awful, which apparently means I can only use up to 8gb of RAM >__>

The consensus I've heard about Windows 8 is that you can, with some customization, make it work almost as well as Windows 7. Almost.

That's a restriction only for Home Basic. Home Premium supports 16, and Professional and up support up to 192 GB of RAM. Windows 8 is more generous, supporting 128 GB for standard packages and 512 for the upgraded ones.

get an upgraded version of 7. Ultimate can go up to 196 GB of RAM, apparently.

no way I'm paying a ton of money to get ultimate. I'll just wait for whatever comes after 8, assuming they treat the start bar with the respect it actually deserves.
