...that's just a difference in output quality between the sugar and salt processing facility

i imagine that you are aware that salt can form crystals, and finely minced sugar is a thing

Comparing my sugar and salt, I see that the sugar crystals are bigger.

Except for the pack of sea salt I have in my closet. Those are of a more decent size. Wish they were bigger though. A dream of mine is just a gigantic salt crystal I could lick all day long.

I use sea salt for everything so, my salt is bigger always. People still use table salt?

I used to use it when I lived in the Highveld that was terribly dry except for when it was actively raining. Then I moved to Kwa-Zulu Natal which is practically a rainforest, and switched to freshly-ground salt to avoid clogging. Then I moved to a coastal city and didn't even try going back to a salt cellar.

brown sugar is sugar that's not fully refined (I think)
Not quite. "raw" sugar (which looks rather similar to brown sugar), is sugar that is unrefined. Most brown sugar is made by adding the molasses removed from the purified white sugar back into the white sugar and mixing, which allows for greater precision in the ratio between sugar and molasses.

Which is healthier, or are they about the same?

Well, brown sugar is still mostly refined sugar, just with some molasses mixed in (you can make it yourself in a pinch, if you're out of brown sugar and keep a carton of molasses in the cupboard), so assuming they've proved a health difference between raw and refined sugar (my knowledge in the area is very refined, hurhur), then raw sugar would still be the healthier of the two, though not exactly a good replacement in baking due to the different consistencies (I imagine, I've never tried).

I've never seen a person keep sugar in a shaker, but you see it in restaurants all the time. They look something like this usually:
Spoiler: The big one (click to show/hide)
I notice the sugar shaker appears to lack holes or any other means of egress for the sugar. An effective strategy for calorie control.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

They actually usually have a spout, so are more of a pourer than a shaker, thus disproving the original point.

Yep. Folds out of the top, pours smooth so you don't wind up with sugar all over the counter. Sugar generally isn't applied in the same quantities as salt, since you're dissolving it in drinks rather than sprinkling it on food (American food has enough sugar in it already, anyways).

how do you politely tell someone that you have bonded with previously over illnesses, that them telling you sexual stuff is freaking you out?

Like I don't want to offend him, and he has always seemed nice, but now I am starting to wonder if perhaps he has different intentions (also he has a wife so wtf)
