it answers my question. I just wasn't sure if they flush old pics at all and I would eventually lose them.
Oh, okay. AFAIK they keep images ad infinitum.
IIRC It's six months if the picture hasn't been "viewed" in that time. I'm not sure what "viewed" means, if it means someone goes to the actual picture on imgur, or if it being loaded by a page is enough.
ALSO: Humans are just machines that are squishy and had a long time of trial and error to get it right. I don't see why an AI with purpose behind it can't match or exceed us, especially if it can modify itself and has a desire to modify itself to help us and itself. (That's the important bit, if you make an AI that can build itself up, you have to make it WANT to build itself to better humanity/the sentient's of the world/whatever. It'll still be ABLE to build itself into the death of humanity, convert us all into computer substrate or whatever, but if it doesn't WANT to, and doesn't want to change that desire, than it'd be safe. Just like you can go and stuff a bunch of poison into the water supply, you don't *want* to, so you don't. You're still pretty capable of doing it though.)
Of course, since it'd be a person, it'd probably have some quirks of personality, and so it might not create something that every human enjoys or even understands. Or any human, nothing saying it won't have some aesthetics only synthetic life like it can enjoy.
