So my area is due to be hit with a "severe storm" over the next few days. Gusting winds, rain, several feet of snow in the mountain passes. Supposedly. Whether it will be as bad as it sounds or not, the fact remains that in all of my years of driving I have never, NOT ONCE, seen highway message boards warning about an approaching storm days in advance. Not in this area, anyway. Apparently this hasn't happened in nearly a decade. Depending on how bad it is, I might not be able to work.

Saying that I'm absolutely terrified would be a bit of an exaggeration, but I AM nervous.

Your area, IIRC, is due to get hit with a pretty nasty storm according to weather radar, and it looks to be just hanging out gathering power over the ocean. Washington state is also going to get hammered pretty hard. New England, on the other hand, should be getting pounded now, and that looks to be a much more powerful storm.

I'm currently huddled up inside, under many-a-blanket, with a warm drink next to me. Canada, I love you for moments like these.

I have never even seen snow. /sigh

Must be nice, getting to wear long sleeve shirts and coats. I have a ton of coats I never wear, including several faux fur ones, one of them pink and white, along with scarves and long socks. Many of them pink in some fashion.

I'll just be over here sitting in what feels to be a sauna's worth of humidity and heat.
