I've misspelt LordPlowsloke's name in the past. It's an easy mistake to make.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

I just had the most terrifying nightmare I've had in years. I was at work, and it was all uber realistic, meaning, business as usual. Anyway, so, while checking some stuff in the computer, I stumble onto some bullshit biopsy result saying that I had a lymphoma. What the fuck, I think. I did not have any such thing done. This must be a mistake. Someone filed someone else's results under my own name. But the people at my workplace assure me that I totally had this done, and that we have to go through with the rest of the diagnostic procedures -and treatment. And STILL I did not wake up, but remained asleep long enough to trash about thinking "This can't be fucking happening, this can't be fucking happening", and trying to find out whether there had been a mix-up at some point, to no avail, before I finally got wholly awake.

Holy shit. I need some holidays, badly.

Danmit.

Shoulda posted it in the happy thread for a bigger impact.
On the things that terrified me: I had to get up at 6:30. I wake up and look at the clock, which fell on the ground. It's 9:09! I spring up, pick up the clock and put it back. That's when I noticed it's upside down and it's actually 6:06.

I had a dream about getting up and going through my daily routine. I got like hallway through the day, and then I'd wake up and have a hearty "What the fuck?"

The strange red spots on my foot have increased in size.

This can't be good.

Last time I had an ultra-realistic dream (I was on the computer. The dream took a webpage from TVtropes and pasted it PERFECTLY onto there) I went to the loo in the dream. Being ultra-realistic...

Shingles?

If shingles, you have a relatively small window to get it looked at, I'd go to the doctor for sure. My wife gets them on occasion, nasty stuff, runs in her family.

Usually it's just a very red rash with bumps, similar to chicken pox (same virus) but it follows nerve lines. But of course, Google images loves showing you the worst case scenario of any sickness/disease. I'm pretty sure if you Google paper cut you'd get a bunch of images of arterial spray and dismembered fingers.

Eh, just a tiny paper cut and lots of astonising paper cutouts.

...but then I searched very red rash with bumps and there were of course gross images of genital areas. Why am I doing this to myself?

The electricity went out this night. No problem. But theres a computer in my room that I use as a server sometimes. It wasnt on because itd make too much noise.
When the electricity came back, the computer started buzzing and doing some stuff it always does when you plug it in, and it was like six in the morning, I was sleeping.

Jesus that freaked me out, especially since my clock said that it was midnight.
