I'm more concerned about the shit grade I'll have for the day because of my abysmal technique. The unknown we extracted here was a big part of next week's lab too, so I'll have to do a damn near perfect job on everything else for the rest of the semester to get the grade I need.

Well, I fucked up. My organic chemistry lab was today, and the lab was separating the sucrose, aspirin, and an unknown analgesic compound which may have been acetaminophen, but also could have been antifebrin or phenacetin. That isn't important though, not this week at least. I borked just about all of the extractions in some way, and failed to produce any meaningful amount of the unknown or sucrose. what little aspirin I did extract was less than half of what I should have pulled out. More concerning though is that I was using dichloromethane as a solvent for part of the separation, and I spilled some on my hands. I told the TA keeping an eye on things, and he told me to wash it off, so I did. The whole thing happened between the fume hood where I got the stuff and the fume hood where I was working though, so I'm more than a little concerned. I got about 1 mL on my hands in total, luckily only a small fraction of what was in the graduated cylinder. This was about 3 hours ago, so I think I'm fine, but it is still worrying.

Chillax. The absolute worst is you get a small chemical burn, but I heavily doubt that you'll get any problems. Even the inhalation is no big deal,  it's not like you were sniffing the stuff on purpose a liter a day.

Well, yeah, that's a bit of a problem. I hate multiple step assignments anywhere. -_-

We are doomed. It's just that whatever is going to kill us all just happens to be, from a scientific standpoint, pretty frickin' awesome.

I'm going to do the smart thing here and disengage. This isn't a hill I paticularly care to die on.

Eat-ville sounds like a great place to be. Until you're full. Then it turns into a horror movie.
