Wait, wut? It ended?  I haven't looked in over a year, so I've missed a lot, probably.  Same with Goblins!
Well there's not been any updates for the majority of that year so I'd say not as much missed as you might expect.

Not absolutely terrifying, but a small guy lip-synching slightly imperfectly to black metal style singing, with a range that does not seem possible for someone with a chest cavity as small as his, is one of the more uncanny things I have seen in a while.
You can not post that and then not share the video with us.

This. The synching is better than I thought it was last night, but I still find the deep growls weird apparently coming from the guy apparently singing (it is, I believe, some other guy doing the actual singing at that point).

I have now confessed to piracy to a government official on what was probably a recorded line. I have no reason to suspect I'll be subject to legal actions other than that I could be, but that's enough to worry me.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Meh, she'll be right- just sail your ship to safer waters, somewhere out of their reach.

Most regular people won't be prosecuted on piracy charges namely because of the cost.  It costs money to arrest someone, it costs money to reserve time with a judge, it costs money to assign someone a defense attorney, it costs money for the jail cell...  You get the picture.

Mainly it would depend on the company who was the "victim" of said pirating, and if they would care to press charges.  The people who were prosecuted by the government itself were usually government employees, or would cause waves in communities/media if they were prosecuted.  Also, most charges are against people hosting the material, not from the people who get the material from those sources.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, I doubt they want to spend that many resources against one person who recorded a song once.  Next time though, don't admit to yarharr-ing.

There is a wasp staring at me, twitching its stinger menacingly.
Bay12, what is the protocol for this?

Turn off your computer. Leave your house. Never come back.

His actions are an insult to your family, and have tarnished your honour.
The only thing to do in this situation is as follows:
1. Stand up, make sure you let it know that YOU are the dominate species.
2. Slowly grab a hard nearby object, like a shoe.
3. Strike like the viper!
4. Miss horribly and run away screaming profanity out of your house
5. Burn your house down, there is no saving it now.

Actually I'm in the parking lot outside my therapist's, using wifi from a nearby lawyer.

Thankfully, it just now flew out the window.
That was terrifying.

I'm not sure what you meant so I'll assume you mean the lawyer flew out the window using their demon wings.

This is clearly the most logical assumption.

No, I don't think it was Truean.
It was just a typical low level lawyer.

Every lawyer you kill summons more lawyers suing you for killing that lawyer.
I am never playing Dwarf Fortress again.
