Dangerous centipedes are a foreign concept to me. In New Zealand they're just bugs that weird kids sometimes play with.

Well, basically here, they hurt like a motherfucker when stung by them, not dangerous, but people go to the emergency room because the pain is too much to bear.

Shit's cray. Watched youtubers play it, then downloaded the demo, turned off all lights in the room, then sat down to play at midnight. Got as far as the title screen before nope-ing the hell out of it. Eventually, I'll play it. I swear, guys. I will surely deliver.

I just tried to watch the Rooster Teeth LP of it, and my god. It manages to be scary even with them making jokes at every possible second.
I think I'd rather watch some more pictures of eyes getting horribly mutilated while trying to find one that's creepy and won't get me banned from the forums.

The jump scares are only when you lose; mostly it's just extreme minimalism in horror gameplay, and a spot-on sense of impending doom.

Is it more than scarry jump scares?

Yes. It creates excellently creepy atmosphere, creates a sense of impending and inevitable doom as the player has no choice but to sit and wait for the monsters to come to them, and it limits the resources just enough so that you can't easily cheat the system, but at the same time it isn't unfairly limiting. It's also quite different from most indie horror games, and it does really well with the minimalist point-and-click gameplay.

In short, it's a great indie game. Would recommend to anyone who likes horror.

Also I think Markiplier's videos of it are some of the best videos he's made in a while. Probably because he has to focus on the gameplay instead of worrying about making dumb jokes or commentary for the sake of entertainment.

But now I know why it's called hot. Way in was easy, but the way out was painful. IS painful.
