I am a (very mild) paranoic, and today, I had to let my dog outside at 3 A.M.

After I let it out and lock the door ( a heavy metal/wood one) and sit in a room, I hear banging on the door. Not light one too, more like goddamn kicking it.
The problem is; what happened to my dog? It's pitch black outside, I can't hear it, I can't see anyone or anything outside. I know that if i don't open the door my dog will freeze to death. Suddenly, the banging stops. I grudgingly open the door...

And there's nothing there. Nothing. Not a sound. I wait for a minute, and my dog comes inside. As I was going back to my room I swear I saw someone in a corner of my eye, but when I looked there there was no one there. I have grates in my windows, but honestly, now I'm going to roll up in a corner and cry.

Maybe your dog was scratching themselves/licking their butt whilst sitting against the door?
My dog used to do that, and she'd crash into the door repeatedly and make a sound like someone banging on it. Is it a large dog?

Nope, rather small and light. And it sure as hell wasn't it. I know that lil' bugger for 5 years now, and I know that it'll never get close to that door, unless it's open.

I don't think it's worth worrying about. Most likely nothing. Then again, I'd probably be seriously creeped out in your place, myself.

I think that was my paranoia kicking in, cooperating with the lack of sleep for 2 days. No chance it was a prank, though. Unless someone climbed a fence, surrounding a house of a paranoic, who has his entrance next to a kitchen with meat cleavers and such, oh, and the real life equivalent of Courage the cowardly dog guarding the place. Honestly, if someone was at that door when i opened it, I would probably stab him/her.

I live in a town of less than 100.000 people.
There is my country's main insane asylum in it. It is 15 minutes walk from my house.
There was a breakout a few years back.
I'm in for a treat.
Good thing I can't remember my dreams unless the shit hits the fan in there. And if it does, I'll remember it forever.

100 thousand isn't very small by New Zealand standards. I don't see what the problem is.

Just finished the Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program for my learner's permit thing, and I got the certificate stuff printed out. I know I should be happy - I'm *this* close to being able to legally drive a car (with some supervision) - but I'm terrified. I feel like the moment I get on the road I'll crash into something or someone, or be crashed into. 1/3 of all teen deaths are related to vehicles. I'd rather not contribute to that statistic.

Where the heck do you live that you can get a learner's at fourteen? You have to be seventeen to get one here, and eighteen to get a full-out license.

Most US states you can get a temp at 15 and the full card ay 16.

My 15th birthday is on the 25th, so thirteen more days. However I'll be taking the test to get it on August 5th.
