By being trans, although the situation's kinda fucked up one way or the other in that case, since there's a lot of information about your body that's presumably elaborated on in greater detail in the class assigned to your biological sex. Since that's a big part of the point of the class, I'm not really sure what to do other than just have both sexes get all of the material. Only downside there is people throwing fits about what's proper and stuff, really, since it's helpful for empathy purposes to know about the bodies of people of the opposite sex. Knowing what bodily functions they have to put up with in more than the vaguest possible terms can't hurt, I figure.
That's confusing.

I thought sex ed was generally done with both sexes at the same time? I don't think I had any sex ed class though.
In my primary school, there was actually a big fight between a bunch of parents and a bunch of teachers (most of which were female, incidentally) who either did or did not want their children/students knowing about how other peoples' parts worked. I can't remember who was on what side - but they were all equally obnoxious and self-righteous.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

Yeah, that's real life for ya. Or did you mean to say that I didn't say anything coherent? That's also a possibility.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I don't want to admit what show it is, for reputation purposes.

Feel free to google-fu it up, though.

EDIT: I will add that it is not extremely obscure.

MOAREDIT: I will give an anagram, for the puzzle minded.

What the hell did you anagram this with? Nothing online seems powerful enough to crack it.

I think it's more a case of me refusing to acknowledge any discrepancy between physical-sex and mental-gender as though each is indicative of the other, and getting confused whenever that discrepancy is mentioned, as opposed to any real fault on your part.

My guess is that it doesn't actually exist and Tawarochir is messing with us...

I think I got sex ed around grade 7. They did split up the genders into different classes, but they covered both sides as far as I know.

Speaking of reproductive education and terror, I remember learning about ectopic pregnancy* for the first time in my first year of university biology. I recall going "Aha, now I understand why people with university educations have fewer kids. They found out about this!"

I've always sorta seen pregnancy through the lens of body horror, and that sure didn't help.

I'm pretty impressed that "altingzswo17qfoqglsheqdsmadlb19qmru" exists ONLY in this thread. It takes great skill to create something so random even The Internet has not created it beforehand.

That might be why I am immune to most squicky stuff.

empathy purposes to know about the bodies of people of the opposite sex.

That was kinda my thought. Knowing both genders' anatomy in detail ain't a bad thing...>_>

My body parts may, in fact, be evil.
But they've certainly never garnered complaints...

I first learned about sex-ed when I was around 6 years old. I kept pestering my parents about where babies came from and they got me an illustrated (if somewhat simplified) book on the process. By the time schools actually started teaching sex-ed in middle school (genders were NOT separated - progressive California district yo) I knew a good number of the biological processes :P

* Cmega3 just realized she has gotten the wrong sex ed for years.

...Can someone pass me a bucket? I think I need to vomit.

How could you get the wrong sex ed?

Err, wait, I don't get this much...Wrong sex ed?
...
As in, not teaching about how...err, both genders work?

To be honest Tiruin, not every school in the states even gives sex ed. When I was in high school in fact there was absolutely none, people would ask me because of my reputation more often than anyone would assume the school had any responsibility there it was just ignoring.
