So, I live in an apartment in an old woolen mill, and the river was really high. I never really noticed how high until I saw some numbers on one of the bridge columns. Turns out, they're markers for how high the water was. The highest was eleven feet. I only noticed the numbers because the water dropped a couple feet. The water was over eleven feet deep. Best part? This was at the shoreline.

You should read Crime and Punishment.
A bit confusing at times for anyone who wasn't Russian in the 1800s, but despite that it's a very good book.

I looked at crime and punishment once and realised I didn't have a spare century to read it. I'm a good reader, but that's denser than iron bars and about everyone has multiple things different people call them by and who is who did wait what did that guy do i can't remember arrgh

Oh yeah, the name thing was rather confusing.
I think my copy included a glossary/appendix specifically to sort out the names, now that you mention it.
And a whole heap of appendixes dealing with the various political/religious references in the book. Man, I think half the time it took me to read it was spent flipping through to appendixes and what-not, and I ended up sticking a tab on the ones I needed more often.
...But it was worth it, okay!

My EKG came back, and it turns out there may be something off. I am going in for more tests later, but one side of my heart is slightly enlarged. This is... troubling.
