-trying to get in relationships with attractive women
-being pissy because said attractive woman left the relationship
-wishing to meet attractive women

Does anyone else remember the time when rapping used to be about... you know, rapping about social injustice rappers saw around them and not about money and bitches? No, just me? Okay...

Still happens, brah Strange. There's a lot of rap music being produced, on a lot of different subjects. S'just a fairly small subset of subjects that hit major consumption. Kinda' just like every other genre that's consumed en masse. Treating radio-normal stuff as the whole of a set of a music is just... so cruel. To the music itself, y'know? So's willfully ignoring the standouts and small-time folks that do really impressive stuff regardless as to genre or subject.

Anywaay. Personally, I've yet to find a genre of music that didn't have at least a few pieces of nice music lurking amongst it. And I've been looking for one to break my streak for better than two decades, now. Just have to cast your net widely and keep your ears open, heh.

Thank goodness. I'm glad to see others that recognize that genre doesn't define quality of music. Rap/hip hop are especially hard hit by this generalization, and that saddens me. =(

...I can recommend several artists and the like who I think are pretty good and rap about actually meaningful things...if you want......

So, I installed some mods on S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Clear Sky. One was a weather mod, adding things like thunderstorms and dense fog. After coming across a bandit encampment in a thick fog, I begin looting the bodies. While doing this I hear a noise and look up, and all I see are a pair of glowing eyes right in front of my face. Turns out, there are bloodsuckers (think Mind Flayer, but with active camouflage) here. I whip out my Saiga and empty the clip into it, just as it hits me. Wipe brow, change pants.

lyrics are not the entirety of a song; they do not decide the worth of a song

for example: Suburban Legends' 'Girlfriend's Pretty' has some incredibly sexist lyrics (and not much hint that it's irony), but is still totally groovable-to

To quote Tim Minchin in his song 'White Wine In The Sun', 'Some of the chords are quite nice, but the lyrics are dodgy'.

Here's a more pertinent example. Don't hafta agree with the lyrics to think that is some incredibly catchy music.
