I got found an Anarchist's Cookbook back in the early days of the internet and passed along its recipe for napalm to a friend.  He made a little bit, poured it onto his driveway, and lit it.  Just a small amount.  He said it burned forever.  He tried to stomp it out, but it just stuck to the bottom of his boots and kept burning

some of the materials used are now unavailable (f.ex. a highly specific brand of drain cleaner) but goddamn. you could actually trust the internet with your life most times had you a basic knowledge of chemistry to discern between utter bullshit and plausible things

This also applies to explosives. It just seems like a bad idea to try and make C4 with no idea what you're doing.
