I've never had to have any kind of invasive stuff done at my mouth. For the most part all I've gotten at the dentist are cleanings.
Today I just came back from picking up a bruxism mouthpiece.

Never been scared of needles. Not even as a kid. Getting vaccinations was meh.

Medical procedures in general don't perturb me.

Needles hurt. And vaccinations make you sick.

Needles don't hurt a lot (altough they tend to do in your mouth), but they just look so fucking scary.

Needles are really scary, I think its a evolutionary fear of having sharp things stuck into your body though. They don't really hurt (unless the doctor screws up), but they still scare me a bit every time.

Obviously, I didn't evolve enough. Sharp things don't faze me, heights don't faze me, wild animals don't faze me, even deep water doesn't faze me which would be a rational fear since I can't swim.

Things flying around my head, though.....OMGWTFGETAWAYDIEDIEDIEAAAAAAH

I have an irrational fear of needles.
A while back, I went to get a blood test, but couldn't go through with it. I just curled up in a ball and couldn't stop crying, even after I left.
Fucking embarrassing.

Same here. I would rather the disease than the innoculation, which is incedibly silly, irresponsible and irrational.

I have first part of my matriculation exam of Finnish tomorrow. Pretty terrified about how it's gonna go, because I got shitty results on all of the practice tests.

And vaccinations make you sick.
If you owe your survival to them, it might change your view on this a tiny bit :P

Well, I guess I didn't got tetanus and such, but flu shots almost always make me sick. Even got sick with the pig flu vaccine (thank you useless vaccine). On the other hand, maybe it would be even worse without it.

Vaccines make you sick with a mild version of a disease that would otherwise kill you.

Oh, dude, I got full blown H1N1 a few years back (couldn't afford the vaccine), and even working for a crazy-prepared company that gave me Tamiflu for free(!!!) it was still a nightmare. It literally felt like I had been set on fire and hit by a truck. Now, you may think that's hyperbole, but both of those things have actually happened to me, although they were separate incidents. I couldn't get out of bed for three days straight. Ran a 104 fever, and had to be hospitalized overnight for dehydration from...various unsightly bodily functions I wish we didn't have.

Moral of the story is: You have the chance to try out swine flu? Skip it.

Sometimes a vaccine does not take, and if you get exposed to the virus within two weeks of getting the vaccine you'll probably still get sick.
Vaccines make you sick with a mild version of a disease that would otherwise kill you.
No, they don't. In inactivated vaccines that is completely impossible (as the pathogen is dead) and almost impossible in attenuated vaccines, to the point where only the immunocompromised are at risk of contracting the disease.

Most feelings of illness from a vaccine are from your immune system mobilizing to counter the "infection", and varies from person to person, depending upon their degree of autoimmune response.
