I want cold and dark and snow.

Instead I have heat and sun. And this is particularly badly suited for the current crop of emotional wreckage I am feeling.

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

You're getting no sympathy from us northerners RedKing.

Today was the first time in a couple of days where the high breached the teens (Fahrenheit).
And my response to that is always, "And that's why I don't live in the North." Y'all choose to live with that shit. I live in the South in part because I hate the cold. So when it's cold despite that, IT IS EVUHL.

My mom is giong to the vet with my cat. He's been eating little for a while, and now he has a wound on his yaw from a fight. He also has cat AIDS. God I'm so terrified of losing him. I love that little bastard so much.

E:
Oh, and have a picture him. I love that cat so much. I've had him since I was seven. It's hard to explain how much I love him.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

E2: Yay he's fine! Check the happy thread.

What are ya'll talking about? I'm in the South and it's been below freezing for most of the past two weeks.

All is as it should be.

My cat's getting super old, and I wonder how long she'll last.  She's one of the most badass creatures I've ever known, but has really slowed down over the last couple years.  Used to be so athletic, that you could stand over her and spin a stick in circles around her as fast as you could flick your wrist, and she would keep up with it while spinning in place.  She made dogs 20x her size whimper in fear.

I think she's about 17 now...

Read that as "Gluing the cat to the vet."

Cat AIDS?
Feline leukemia. It's debilitating and highly contagious among cats. Once a cat has it, they pretty much can only hang out with other cats who already have it. Sometimes called the feline equivalent to AIDS, although looking back at my definition, it could just be cat hipsteria. Once they catch it, other non-hip cats are too uncool to be seen with.

Luckily, cats can be vaccinated for it. My good ol' Felix had it when he was born :c

Sadly, you can't vaccinate kidney failure. Cats are wonderful, but it's damned hard to see them go.  :'(

There's also FIV.

FIV differs taxonomically from two other feline retroviruses, feline leukemia virus (FeLV) and feline foamy virus (FFV)

Am I a bad person for reading that bolded part and thinking of Foamy the Squirrel?
