In a recent dream, I was somehow stranded on a small island with high hills, manmade cleanwater stream, a natural muddy stream, and surrounded by sea. Nearby was a civilized shore and a port city. I climbed up to the top of the hill and was thinking, 'better find some trees to make a raft and escape, and also dig a trench in the shape of X', when a large cruise ship slid into harbor. Just then, a huge wave slammed it from behind and made it bump into the dock.
The realness of it was probably the most fearful :/ A huuuuuuge wave, making the sea water churn like that D:
So like, i just saw an episode of Doctor Who. Great series, very entertaining. However, this episode contained something that was right the fuck out of my nightmares. "The Beast Below", i think it was called, the one with the space whale and those dreadful smilers. In particular, it was the latter, because the notion of space whales is funny and awesome. That default "SMILE" they wear is really creepy in and of itself, a crowning example of the uncanny Grand Canyon. Then they spin their heads around, and reveal a frown, which is actually less creepy than the smile, but still unnerving. Then they spin their head a third time, where one would expect the creepy smile to appear again, because their heads only have two sides. Instead, a downright horrifying almost-demonic face of rage appears, combining both red eyes of doom (COMPLETELY red), uncanny valley and nightmare face into one exceptionally pants-wetting package. The first scene in which it appears does absolutely nothing to mitigate the horror either. The fact that my imagination keeps expecting that face to pop up everywhere doesn't exactly help either.
In other words, they managed to combine three of my phobias (uncanny valley, nightmare face and anomalous machine behaviour (this last one kind of makes me wonder if i'm sane or not, but i'm too busy soiling myself to care because it's pretty major)) into one thing and scene, all of them falling under the "IT SHOULD NOT BE/LOOK LIKE THAT" category. That probably makes absolutely no sense to you whatsoever, but hey, it does to me. In fact, it's the worst category of phobias in my noggin.
I saw that one too, and it was creepy...
