Quote from: Urist is dead tome
I think coyotes are outside my house.

The yipping...
Shouldn't that be in the 'happy' thread?

I don't see why it would be. It's not a particularly joyous occasion.

You kidding?  We had coyotes who used to romp through our back yard when we lived in Oregon, and it WAS always a joyous occasion.  We would squee and run to the windows and sometimes try and yip back at them, which actually made them get real quiet most of the time (what the hell is that, it's not a coyote)...

Then they had puppies, and we got these tiny little squeaking yiphowls as we listened to them learning how to howl over the months.  ^.^  That place was great.

Just don't let your cats be 'outside' cats anywhere that has coyotes.  Or big roads, for that matter.  Or stray dogs.  Or neighbor dogs.  Or people who try to poison raccoons/possums/mice/rats.  Really, coyotes are the least of your concerns.

They don't get that close. And I believe that a coyote attempted to attack one of my family's beloved dogs. And now that he's dead they've come for revenge.

I guess you should think it twice before killing a coyote, then.

So I just about suffered a home invasion yesterday.

While I was home.

Luckily being large and burly meant they couldn't catch me and I was able to run across the street to my neighbour's house and call the police.

Good thing I didn't do the vaccuuming beforehand because having eight officers roll through your house tends to make things messy.

Nothing appears to be stolen, but I'm still spooked from it.

I've been struck by a particularly morbid line of thought today. Can't stop thinking about entropy and the cessation of existence.

Smile Dog won't get out of my head.

Smile Dog has never bothered me before today.  I thought he was cute, even.

Now it's terrifying, and I see him whenever I close my eyes.

I might be suffering from sleep deprivation, or maybe these antibiotics + all kinds of other things are really screwing with me.  A lot.

Playing Firefight as the Russians and a german Barrage wiped out my AT guns.

Then 6 tigers came charging out of the forest towards the hill I need to defend.

Only my command squad survived/ didn't surrender/ retreated

Vivid, horrific nightmares run in all the females in my wife's family.  It seems to be genetic.  My wife had a very traumatic childhood, but her sister who was separated from the family at infancy and had a very stable childhood seems to have the same problems.  My wife's nightmares are every night, and there was one very emotional period of her life where she would get up in the middle of the night and run around while still stuck in her nightmares.  Her nightmares aren't what I'm posting about.

We have a 6 year old son, who turned diabetic at age 4.  He's also had troubles with nightmares most of his life, and still requires tons of soothing and coaxing before he'll sleep alone.  His most frequent blood sugar lows are at night while asleep.  Since diagnosis, he's had two minor hypoglycemic seizures, both while asleep.  Both times we were lucky that I happened to be near or in his room in the middle of the night when it happened.

After the second one I spent some wiki time on stuff related to seizures and hypoglycemia, and discovered that nightmares are a symptom of low blood sugars.  Upon reading this, I recalled how both seizures began with him bolting upright in bed suddenly screaming in panic with the worst look of terror I've ever seen on his face.  He then carries on like you'd expect of a kid stuck in a really bad nightmare for a couple minutes before the convulsions begin.

Discovering this + knowing my wife's seemingly genetic troubles with nightmares = me absolutely horrified anytime I think about it and try to process what he must experience at night

I have seen something very strange that brought me to the brink of insanity a few moments ago.
My mother went to this old couples' house and they usually give her stuff like food.
They got a fruit. This fruit was grown on a tree whose seeds likely came from a swap-meet.
It terrified me and gave me shivers just holding the fucker.

Now, gentlemen.
Behold...

YES. I am sure that IS a lemon.

You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?

Oh Jegus.

Read the story behind that.

It really DID make me absolutely terrified today.
You really should read up on it here instead. Season Three will be starting soon, too.
Reading through some of it (and those videos), it irked me for a moment... and then it dawned on me. This ghost is an asshole. I got my nerves back and figured that this kid was dedicated to his game and lost it. He would've done what anyone that dedicated would've done. Ruin games forever for the victim.
snip

so, that made me shit a freaking brick house, you could say, it made me go wee wee wee al the way home.

other than that

is it real or not? my detection-of-crap-and-lack-of-detecting-plots-in-stories-level is very low
