After the recent popularity of Geico's "Hump Day" commercial, I realized that viral marketing was doing everything it could to turn people into machines which further propagated the advertisement. But that's not the scary part. The scary part is, it's working.
That *is* disturbing! What can I do?

But seriously, that really opened my eyes. The bad part is I won't be able to laugh anymore when I hear HUMP DAYEEEE echo down the hallway at school every Wednesday.

We are doomed. It's just that whatever is going to kill us all just happens to be, from a scientific standpoint, pretty frickin' awesome.

Don't tell anyone that you can see their shadows. If they hear you telling anyone, if you let them know that you know of them, they will get you.

The more I read through my business texts, the more I'm convinced that I wasn't wrong when:

Accidentally wrote that the ultimate goal of all corporations was global domination.

I mean, the year basically started off as "Yay, business! Sell the things, get the money!"

But now we are going into how to dominate our markets in marketing, how to control a company in management, and HR and Operations are talking about how to motivate workers to do whatever it is you task them to do.

Seriously, the four steps to being a "good manager" are Plan, Organize, Direct, Control, and the purpose of a manager is described as doing whatever it takes to further a company's objectives.

I know they are purposely using vague wording so that it can cover as many possible business types as possible, but it sounds unbelievably ominous at times.

I think that tops global domination on the evil scale.

Wait, what flavour?

Jonestown Red.

I see...

Well then, I'll just be over here, far away from the grape kool-aid, keeping as much distance between me, Guyana, and cultists as possible.

I'm sitting in the living room. I hear movement from my room and look over. Nothing. I hear it again, but nothing moves in the room. I wonder if the sound is coming from somewhere else and start to look away.

Suddenly three upside-down faces jump out from the top-right corner off the doorframe and stare at me. It's a Squiddles poster that was coming unstuck from the wall on top (hence the noises of it falling) and ended up hanging upside-down from the fourth sticky attacher thing for a few seconds.

It's scary how well-positioned and timed the jump was. I think this poster might be sentient.

This thing exists. And it was created solely to cause pain to large crowds by the police. Why would you want to invent this?

I've seen it on TV before. I think the most terrifying thing about it is that it can simulate the sound of a baby crying, but at an extremely, deafeningly, loud volume. I'm pretty sure subjecting people to a baby crying is somewhere in the Geneva Convention.

Or in the constitution. Would it not be considered an unusual punishment?
