A friend complemented my writing. Now no idea if i'm not as shit as I thought or whether they're just trying to make me feel better.

But there's laughter and oh there is love, just past the edge of our fears.
And there's chaos when push comes to shove, but it's music to my ears.

Well if they're actually a good friend they're going to be honest to you, even about something like this.

Trust 'em a little :)

Quote from: Chesterton
For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

MERS, the SARS-like Coronavirus Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome, has been spreading for some time now, and over 70 people infected so far, and a startlingly high mortality rate. Most of the infections are in Saudi Arabia. A few cases have been seen in Britain, France and Germany.

More importantly, it is in Saudi Arabia, a important Muslim Pilgrimage site, and while the Haj is not for 2 months, many will come during Ramadan next month.

Has anyone heard about what happened to the Icelandic government a couple years ago during the financial crisis? That they actually let their banks fail and their economy subsequently boomed? No? That's pretty important world news, right?

Not to mention that the ruling party resigned peacefully and about two dozen average citizens with no political affiliations were chosen to help draft a new constitution.

Now try to find a news story about it.

Slide it, nothing to see here. I think you've had enough thought for today.

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

Impressive. Most drugs seem to be misuse of a natural chemical or chemicals in such a way to achieve a high, but that does appear to just simply be injecting a mix-and-match artificial poison.

Also, I just googled it to find out info from Wikipedia, and let me just say, First, don't Google it. Just don't. Second, it seems one of the biggest problems is they make it at home, and use it, completely unpurified. Any and all the accidental materials they create, which include other opiates, Caffeine, Acetaminophen, and a anti-Histamine (also a Opiate Potentiator, which sounds bad). Now that really can't be good.

Yeah, reading descriptions of what happens googling it doesn't sound pleasant.

It's mostly people missing large chunks of flesh huddled in broken down hallways. I googled it a while ago.

I repeat my previous statement of that not sounding pleasant. That sounds like very possibly one of the most painful things I've ever heard of that aren't just a form of torture.

That looks like something to stay away from. And yet it also looks like a "Whoah, what is that? I gotta get a closer look!"

It's called...the glory hole? I mean I'm sure they call it that as a joke, but wouldn't expect the reporter to name it as such in the article -.-

Well, she had the honor of dying in a impressive way at least. Perhaps that's what she thought as she got sucked through. "FOR SCIENCE!!!!"
