Yeah as a kid I think I was too young to be scared. I didn't know I was supposed to be scared, so I enjoyed the hell out of them. Something about having a curiosity that overwhelms the desire of self preservation I guess. You guys were missing out if you honestly put self preservation in the way of child-like science!

Well, when I was reading them, I didn't think much of the pictures. It was the later years that the terrifying quality of them came out.

I had a dream last night, and it was as close to a nightmare as I've had in a very long time.

I was walking up the street, and a good distance up the hill I was climbing was a dead man who had no arms. He was lying right next to a pair of train tracks, and his arms were off to the side. Presumably he'd had both arms chopped off by a passing train.

So I hugged the railing going up the stairs and tried to keep my wobbly dream balance from falling into the tracks, even though no trains were coming. While I was climbing, I looked down and the corpse had drifted down the stairs right next to me. I stared in horror, but the dream moved on after that. I've been antsy about losing my arms all day, almost to the point of paranoia.

I finished Earthbound.

In a dark room with headphones on, when a wild opossum or some other small animal also started making scratching sounds outside the windows.

I was with my jaw to the floor in a mix of awe and WTF, until I got to the ending.
Which was just as glorious.
