Pretty sure I'm registered as an organ donor already, so that's taken care of.  I did also find some dead man's switch platforms, which I'm considering trying out...

In any case, I feel some better today, which I'm reasonably sure wouldn't be the case if I were infected with the deadly amoeba.  I'm pretty sure I just have a relatively mild case of the flu.

Good to hear you are better.

I'm curious as to how a tank would evolve. Would it climb out of the primordial ooze wiggling it's track-nubs, feeding on smaller jeeps before crawling onto the shore having evolved proper treds?
My ship exploded midflight, but all the shrapnel totally landed on Alpha Centauri before anyone else did.  Bow before me world leaders!

Why the dead man's switch? It's not like you can't specify in your wills to have a service do that.

Also, don't do that, it'll fuck up digital archaeology, and you'd be dead anyways so who cares about privacy.

There's a guy on my steam friend's list that died of a brain aneurysm maybe 3-4 years ago.  You can put friends in little groups on the list, so he's in his own little "Dead" group.

Never really felt right about removing him from the list, even though the only reason he was there at all was because I gifted him a copy of Nuclear Throne about a month or so before he kicked the bucket.

Are you sure those events are unrelated? What if the copy of Nuclear Throne was cursed so that if you die in the game, you die in real life?

Well. The hole on the inside of my lip appears to be infected. Either that or some creep crept into my house last night and stuffed a bunch of scary-looking yellow gunk into it.

Past experience tells me it's best to get this sort of thing looked at sooner rather than later, but I won't have time for at least a few days. Hopefully it holds off getting too unsightly until next week after I fly to visit family.

I doubt it's anywhere near as severe as the last time I had a pus-producing infection, though. Man, that was nasty.

Edit: owww. This makes it hard to drink hot beverages.

Its kinda morbid how nearly everyone will leave behind a digital artifact when they eventually pass.
Social media accounts, steam accounts, forum posts....

I wonder how many inactive b12 profiles belong to the deceased.

At least a few percents. And it's growing as the forum gets older. https://what-if.xkcd.com/69/

My steam account will go for my son with all the games I have gotten for free all these years, the ones gifted to me and the ones I managed to buy from before the Venezuelancalypse. My wife has all my passwords for emails, banks and whatnot, the rest are deadman-switched.

No, wait until it gets a lot worse, because you don't want to be a bother.

Once I spent a night trapped in a malfunctioning service elevator for just that reason. I figured that someone would eventually call maintenance if they needed the elevator and I'd get out then, but I didn't have anything urgent to do at work that night and wasn't in any particular danger so it'd be best not to bother people unnecessarily.

I was slightly absurd as a teenager.
