I have winged it and gotten more focused and overwrought with work than I really ought to ever be in one life-time, but the absolute cake in my sleep-addled state is that I have been fretting and stressing over my dissertation, whose topic pertains to happy fun life of Lovecraft and the racism in his works. I had moved tabs just to get up a reference from a scholar's works on Poe, and was completely thrown aback when the image of Poe was Poe, but his eyes had fallen out and the blood poured from my screen, and then I woke up - realizing I had fallen asleep, woken up my computer from its sleep and went back to work. The image of Poe is not acting up anymore, but for even a moment it seemed real.
Aw come on.

Ouch. Pretty sure opening that spoiler harmed my soul directly without even having to go through my eyes first. Which is good because they appear to have fallen out now. Help.

Watched a clip I regret watching.

Basically, drunk darts, woman challenging boyfriend to throw darts at a target above her head, she gets nailed in the eyeball.

No amount of brainbleach is getting that one out of my head, but adorable pictures would be appreciated nonetheless. At the very least, I may be able to stop cringing.

Glad to oblige!

Enjoy your kittens, the best way of brain-bleaching.

I'm pretty sure I've heard people refer to jumping spiders as octokittens before.

Also, scientists have managed to train them to perform simple actions.

Over the past day or so there has been some antifa bleating about a gig I'm excited to attend next month, with them predictably trying to pressure the venue into cancelling.
At first I was mostly just amused (some twerp on my friends list* tagged me and a couple of others in a Facebook post, linking to some article that "outed" the show and its organisers for harbouring objectionable beliefs. A real eye-opener, that! Investigative reporting at its finest!) and was torn between cracking some jokes about the absurdity (pun intended) of "uncovering" the offensive undertones of an NSBM event or simply playing dumb, pretending to have been unaware and just quietly going along anyway when the time came.

Now, though, the organiser has posted an edited version of the flyer with the words "BANNED BY ANTIFA" plastered across it.
At this point I am unsure whether this is a joke or not... the number of 'laughing reacts' people have given the post seems to suggest the former, but I'm not the only one concerned. Still holding out hope, especially considering the event can still be found in the venue's list of upcoming stuff.
If it has been cancelled, that would suck. It'd mean another decent local pub/venue selling out and going the way of the Tote. Also they just recently announced a big menu upgrade, full of reasonably-priced vegan options I was looking forward to trying. :-\

*some twerp on my friends list: That guy has since unfriended me, presumably since I failed to promptly and loudly denounce the gig's organisers, NSBM and all related musical styles and/or political ideologies. Or perhaps (this wouldn't surprise me, considering how anal these people are) he trawled through my 'liked pages' on Facebook until he found something objectionable enough - that's an amusing thought. xD

Edit:
Watched a clip I regret watching.
Without trying to open old wounds, any idea what search terms I would need to use to find said clip?
Is it on Youtube, or would I have to make the arduous trek to Liveleak or somesuch? Answer me and I shall reward ye with a photo or four of a cat who I am fairly certain is the very cutest cat I have ever laid eyes on. And there is some stiff compurrtition for such a title, believe me.

My dad once nailed by uncle in the forhead with a dart. He was lucky it did not end up like what you described.

Once had a teacher tell me he'd seen it happen with a ruler. One kid asked a friend for it, friend threw the damn thing hard enough to get lodged in the skull. No permanent damage, but still.
