Sadly this is not the first news story I've ever read of this nature.  The other one was a guy who sat in a chair for two years.  Some friend visited periodically and took care of him somewhat until he died.  He complained his knees hurt and just couldn't get up.  Pretty sure his skin was fused with fabric also.

Anyway, don't the skin/muscle tissue like... Literally rot away if continous pressure is applied to it and its remains imobile for a long time? That woman's skin probably literally fused with the fabric. I mean, there's a reason to why nurses move comatose patients around when they're not cleaning them or applying medication.
