The aggressive nature of the protagonist is violent due to a misinterpretation of people's motives. Perhaps he's satirising the way in which Spain is lashing out at other country's during this time - for example, England had an embargo thingy because they took on some money from a bank going to fund soldiers in the Netherlands, which led to rebellion. This was sometime in the later 1500s. It led to a devastating blow to both English and Netherlands
Not sure as to relevance, but I'm sitting here writing an English essay at four am so you'll take what you get and sift through dross for gold.
What devastating blow to England? The Spanish embargo on the Netherlands hurt Spain, Portugal and the Netherlands but benefited England, France and the Hanseatic League

IIRC the whole thing was intended as a satire of overly romanticized novels about knights and chivalry which were popular at the time.
Yeah, don't forget this thing comes out of the aftermath of the medieval age
Also it's about BANTER

Don Quixote was living in his own fantasy world, like he was absolutely batshit crazy. He thought the windmill was a giant, iirc. (Yes, I read it a long time ago)

Don Quixote
Who is he and why does he have a name that defies the laws of phonetics?

Tilting at windmills represents public hysteria over an imagined threat. I'm not sure what public policy at the time that represented, but that's what tilting at windmills means.

Quijote, with the Spanish throat J sound. Or Quichote/Quihote. Think how the X in Mexico is (sometimes?) pronounced (Mejico/Mehico).

Sounds like you already got it, but
There was a tv show about a talking dog who acted out famous literature like Don Quixote or A Tale of Two Cities.  Even did The Red Badge of Courage.
I think he was on PBS.
That dog was called Wishbone and he was often kids' first exposure to literature, and sometimes the most memorable because school is boring and stuff.

Wow I'm up latearly goodnight

I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and make an appointment to see a doctor.
My, erm, digestion issues keep getting worse. It's at the point where not even my fear of phone calls, appointments, crowds and waiting rooms (especially waiting rooms, oh gods) can make me ignore it any more. :-\

S-so I'm trying to get my friends together to help do voice commentary on a video I made.  I know I can get at least 2, which is great, but I'm still kinda disproportionately worried about some other people saying no...
