I was making a joke, but, yes, I'll agree with that. Retired people are not economic producers, or on their way to become such. I really make no qualifiers of this being a good or bad thing.

Also, you got to understand that in Japanese culture, the elderly are pretty much revered and they are allowed to be rude and gross as fuck in exchange for, you know, a lifetime of backbreaking labor, so it's a different situation from an otaku who lived on their parents' toil.
