My tolerance is way better than either of yours. I can get right up to the spider, before puttin it on a spoon or brush or broom handle or whatever and chucking it out of the house.

I can do that if it's small/hairless. Otherwise, I am not getting near the thing.

My personal favorite disposal method is plastic cup + piece of paper underneath. That way I can see it and know for sure that it is contained and hasn't slipped away and ONTO ME OH GOD NO.
Yhea, imagine them skittering across you back, little hairy hooks digging into your skin with every step, slow and deliberate, mere seconds away from sticking it's fangs into your flesh.

Dang, I was trying to gross you out but now it seems like I was trying to write a spider based porno.

That's just a cop-out answer. The real answer is that you're too much of pansy to squish the eight-legged bastards.
That's not very Jesus-like, though, is it?
Have you not read Hezekiah? "Verily I say unto thee: Crush the buggers who doth have eight legs, for they are most obnoxious and wilt crawl in thy bed."

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

Arachno-guts are disgusting, cling to surfaces, and are composed of whatever spider fluid is. It is simply cleaner to remove it peaceably. That said I still murder skittering little things within my domain when convenient.

Was in the shower a few days ago when I noticed an orange/red spider-thing walking on the ceiling. WTF. I was nude and unwilling for it to move over my head (as then I would have to watch it, as I showered). I sprayed vinegar on it repeatedly and watched as it slid down its thread; every time it slowed its descent and made a move to return to the ceiling I sprayed it again. It skittered away and I showered.
Amusing but worrying. I kind of wish I knew definitively what it was but I rather not trawl through images searching.

I hope all you genocidal spider killers suffer a plague of a thousand biting mosquitoes, stinging wasps and infuriating flies as a canvass of moth wings descends upon your cotton clothes! All the creatures left unkilled because you killed the wrong chitinous creature!

Don't worry; were just acting as the spiders' surrogate predator within our homes where their natural predators can't get to them. It just ensures that the ones that are good at hiding don't starve to death because of the overpopulation of those that are retarded.

To be more serious this is part of how I justify not killing every spider I find in my home. If I have skitterers I want to know without annually tearing my house apart searching for them.

YNK :D
We had a flea infestation and it repels them. From that time I also learned that fleas with blood in them will very likely die on contact as the vinegar seems to forcibly draw it out of them.
It was so bad that I sprayed the socks on my feet with vinegar and in the course of a minute they were dyed orange. It took several more occurances for me to catch on to what was happening.
I recommend not using vinegar all the time for reasons similar to the ones for spiders.

+1

Although moths generally don't bother me a whole lot. And I cannot remember the last time I saw a wasp.
Still, the rest is quite true.

Obviously terrifying, if the place this is posted is any indication.

This dream is really fuzzy, I can't remember it very well, but I can remember what woke me up. I was standing in the field outside my house with my brother, talking about something. My brother suddenly looked at the ground and saw a huge swarm of some small, tan insects storming towards him on the ground. "Bugs" he screamed, as they started to envelop his legs. While they attacked him, another large swarm started to move towards me. Their numbers were so great that they made a sound reminiscent of a stampede of hooved animals. I then woke up at 4AM, thrashing around with my heart racing.

My dreams have been extremely unsettling lately, and this is the third time that I've woken up at four o' clock from it. One of them was when I accidentally kicked a wall at full force while having said dream, so I guess that doesn't count, but it's still completely terrifying.
This also terrified me.

That just means you need more practice. :P I good spider-killing blow (or any insect really) is one that is strong enough to kill them (or at least reduce them to the "last twitches" state) but weak enough that they don't turn into a staining smear. I can regularly hit spiders in such a way that all their legs curl up and they die by there isn't a single drop of ichor on the wall.

(The only exceptions are, of course, centipedes, which you have to slam and then grind if you want to kill them. It makes a horrible mess, but it's the only reliable way to get in a kill. I once watched someone stomp on a centipede some 10 times and it was just going fine until they finally ground their shoe after stepping on it).
