Had to make a 40 or 50 mile long drive on the highway in ~30 degree weather after a night of constant sub-freezing drizzle. Fortunately the ground was warm enough (woo Texas) that there generally wasn't any ice, but driving down potentially frozen bridges was slightly nerve racking. Traffic was lousy too. People tried plenty. He got banned not because he couldn't but he wouldn't get the message. There's been a few like that.

Well, the lack of money. It's terrifying that I must live unable to pay any bills at all, where all my savings go toward my family to keep the flat. It's terrifying that I have to keep the door closed to bailiffs so they don't take any stuff away. It's horrible stuff living like you might get kicked out of the house any second with your family.
I'm getting a job anyway and I'll be living in staff accommodation, but it still scares me about what might happen while I'm gone. My parents aren't in the best of health, but no corporate individual will ever pay attention to that.
In other words, always make sure you have money people. And also don't believe those tossers who say that money can't buy you happiness. They can afford to say stuff like that.

Have you considered having them pursue your country's DLA or PIP equivalent, and council housing? It's not nice, but it's better than being homeless.
