Eating
« on: November 28, 2010, 05:47:13 pm »

Will I be notified when my dwarf is hungry? As of right now I have not eaten since I started. He is very skinny but I don't know if he started like that. Will not eating affect his performance in battle?

I'm sure by the time toady gets too old to program, DF will have reached a stage where as it is sentient enough to program itself.
It won't program itself, it'll be too busy taking breaks and attending parties to code.

As mentioned in the help menu in game, the need to eat and drink has been disabled.  For now, anyway.
So there's no need to worry about it for the moment.

I usually have my adventurers carry around some food anyway, though, just for fun.

I use my food for throwing. Prepared Human Brain FTW.

Not a troll, not some basement-dwelling neckbeard, but indeed a hateful, rude little person. On the internet.
I'm actually quite nice IRL, but you people have to pay the price for that.

Now stop being distracted by the rudeness, quit your accusations of trollery, and start arguing like real men!

Sounds scrumptious. I'll fight you with an open mouth any day.

Dwarven Science: We do what we must, because, we're bored.

Every few miles, [the dwarves] stop the cart.  One of the dwarfs (sic) gets off, digs a hole down below the dirt layers, licks the bedrock, and then they know exactly where they are.  It's called GPS: Geological Piquancy Sampling.

You can still get fat from eating though. Added fat might add more tissue protection but it might also make you slower or something...and it just doesn't look nice in the character description.
