Anybody having issues a.k.a. (black 'plan screen') trying to build in adventure mode?

I created a pocket world, played a few years, abandoned it, and when i start an adventure game:
1- can't create dwarves for adventurers
2- the elf i made can't build other than a carpenter's workshop
3- after creating a CW (in 2) any brooks nearby turn into rocks, any river turns into what seems a frozen brook...
4- can't build plans, I don't see the map but I can place walls and floors... which makes it very hard to build

1 -  There likely isn't a living dwarf civ. For some reason, if the civ is dead, you can't revive it with player forts if you want to start as an adventurer.
3. The rivers froze. Wait till midday.
4. Turn of Twbt, or what makes you see multiple z levels. I've solved that issue by doing that.

Thing is, goblin-native adventurers, if modded playable, won't generate hostility from those human NPCS.

  that because... their ethics aren't prone to attack enemies until provoked unlike goblin civ who mostly do that.
your better off sticking mega or semimegabeast token on goblins if you want irrational hatred and fear of them.

doing so will just cut you off on any social interactions that aren't of your race

Does some necromancer towers do not have  a book/slab of the secret of life and death?
I conquered my first necro tower an there was no slab and the books were some of the weirdest I have seen in the game. Examples:
The Tower
The Tower: The Tower
My love for the Tower
Tower, My love
My life for the Tower
Tower, My life.
World without the Tower
Secrets of the Tower
Secret of the secrets of the Tower
The Tower after the end
Me without the Tower

Seriously! Are all necromancers that obsessed with their tower?

My civ was dead. Then I made 3 forts. Dwarven adventurers are still unavailable. When will my civ be alive enough to get adventurers?

My personal favorite hilarious book story involved a giraffe demon I dug up in legends. He was impersonating some kind of benevolent deity in a human civ for centuries. He wrote many books. Books like:

"Could it be the Giraffe Demon"
"It must have been the Giraffe Demon"
"Start your day with the Giraffe Demon".

I wanted to try this but haven't had a chance.  Did any of your forts get big? (Whatever the limit is for being a mountain home?).  And I suppose you had the king/queen somewhere... did any of your forts resume getting an outpost liason/caravan?  What about migrants?

Also, if you check in the historical map in Legends mode, does your civ have any territory?  You might need to play fortress mode for a few years to get over the 10 year granularity in the map, unfortunately.  Finally, if you export your data from legends mode and look at the sites_and_population (or whatever it is) text file, is your civilisation listed as the owner of your previous forts?

I'm just trying to establish what (from things you can discover in the game) distinguishes a dead civ from a live one...

Is there a way to heal critical wounds in Adventure mode? My character and his kobold komrade are both walking corpses, dragging bits of males body parts behind them. I'd like to save at least the kobold.

I have spellcasters mod installed. I'll have to limp, crawl, and bite my way to enough towers until I get my hands on that one healing spell.

More of a general question but...
is it possible for something to span multiple Z levels if it should be that tall?
