Same way you would change Z-levels in Fort mode.

Why can't I slay Hamlets?! Keeps of elite warriors can be destroyed, but a village of peasant Can't?

You can.  In fact, if you are their enemy they will attack you on sight, animals and all.

It's been forever since I played adventure mode and from what I gathered there's been some developments in what you can do, thanks to dfhack.
can someone shed some light on how I go about making the most of adventure mode?

  • Generate a character.
  • Train up your skills.
  • Kill stuff.
  • ???
  • Become a legend.
  • Be murdered by a kitten tearing your artery open.

Making the most of Adventure mode is all about making up your own goal. Maybe you want to kill every dragon in the world. Maybe you want to create an army of zombies so large that it crashes the game, or you want to go adventuring with your own severed hand. Or maybe you want to become the most renowned warrior in the land, receiving commendation and quests from the kings (before murdering them by throwing them from a tower).

What's wrong with using magma? That's almost always the easiest method.
I have issues channeling it properly to do that method. I end up flooding the fortress with magma.

After cleaning some nasty places i collected a vast amount of copper, silver and gold coins.
The problem is that they're separate in my inventory.

By example if i have 100 copper coins, instead of having logically
blabla copper coin (100)
in my inventory

i have
blabla copper coins (4)
blabla copper coins (26)
blabla copper coins (30)
blabla copper coins (2)
blabla copper coins (6)
blabla copper coins (2)
blabla copper coins (18)
blabla copper coins (12)
etc...

And this kind of ridiculous listing wasting tons of pages between those copper/silver/gold coins making the management really tedious.

Is there a solution, or is that the same kind of annoyance i noticed regarding bolts and arrows when i played the fortress mode ?

if i remember it right the reason coins dont stack is the dates and images on them.

you have

blabla copper coins of 212 (4)
blabla copper coins of 214 (26)
blabla copper coins of 212 with a different image on the back (30)
and so on.
if you remove CURRENCY_BY_YEAR  for there entity file then you just get copper coins from blabla and not opper coins from blabla dated 212.

I gave a try with removing the [CURRENCY_BY_YEAR] from the entity_default.txt from both the raws and the save own raws but unfortunately it didn't merged all those numerous stacks of the same thing.

Looking at the description i noticed what could then be the reason out of the year : the engraving.
All those coins stacks have different engravings and are listed according to which engraving they're sharing.

Oh well, i hope the next version that should come in a year or two will at least provide a solution to such annoyance.

I think changes to the entity_default.txt always require a regen anyway.

Can Weapons/Shields gain names in Adventure Mode, or is that only Fort Mode?

Entity changes always require a world regen.
