Hmm. It's possible that all the kobolds got wiped out during world gen, I'm not sure. It's working in mine. Try genning a larger world than you have been doing? As for the halberd, I have no idea. Unless your character is large him/herself to wield it in only one hand (usually I've only had that happen when playing as a modded race of some sort but I suppose it could happen with humans), you should automatically multigrasp large weapons. But honestly, I wouldn't worry about it; for survivability, having a shield is far more important than multigrasping a large weapon.

There is no !!FUN!! In protecting yourself behind puny shield. BE A DORF.

Can't be a dorf, I'm a kobold. Anyway, I'm uploading my entity_default file to my dropbox, try downloading it and replacing yours with it then genning a new world. If that doesn't work then I'm not sure what the problem is.

Hmm. Speaking of, a while back (may have been up to two years ago, can't remember), I know someone made a mod to give crossbows bayonets. It made them REALLY good. I wish I still had that mod or knew how to recreate it.

Cheers. Let me know how the combat reports look, I'm not entirely sure I set it up right. Hopefully it'll say something like "The Marksdwarf stabs the Goblin Axeman in the fifth finger, right hand with the bayonet of his <-Iron Crossbow-> and the severed part sails off in an arc!" instead of "The Marksdwarf stabs the Goblin Axeman in the tongue with his +Copper Crossbow+, tearing the muscle!"

Try using the world gen method described in the DFWiki's adventure quickstart guide.  Try different regions, because I've found they often have different races and mixes depending on historic battle outcomes.

Kobolds don't have language. This tag also means Kobolds will always be hostile to everyone that isn't them.


Question for myself; what are the odds of finding food in a small hamlet?

slim to maybe.  check all rooms.  Might be one room or so with it.  Maybe a vamp who hordes?  Hunt outside town.

EDIT:  ohh, you LW.  Noo, a blind guy will have a snowball's chance in hell to find food in a small hamlet.  I'd not recommend it. . .  but maybe you know something I don't.

Try a fort or town.  A shop is the only gaurenteed place I know.

Some huts will have bags with berries in them. They'll usually also have cabinets full of clothes and stuff, so it should be easy enough to figure out which ones.
