I have homework to do and am trying to keep myself away from this until I have a better idea as to a plan.

In a weird move, I'm wondering if trying to convince publishers to pick up Tattoo the Wicked Cross again would help change the mass culture, if very slowly.

That's a pretty crappy school. I'm surprised no one has taken legal action against them.  >:(

Hey, here's an example of someone having their life "turned around" by this school.

Clearly their methods get "results".

STILL CARE TO DEFEND THESE BASTARDS, NEONIVEK?

The more I hear about this, the more I want to show these bastards what we do to people like them.

. . . Why don't you help research people to contact, then, and think about writing some letters?

This looks quite interesting.

http://www.elanschool.com/contact.htm

I doubt I could get them to send me an information pack and stuff all the way to Britain, but it seems like this would be a good way to contact and perhaps expose them if you live in Maine or a state where you might feasibly send your child from (since it's a boarding school, actually, maybe any mainland state would do).

You could try, I dunno, recording a phone conversation discussing their methods?

Actually, there is one person who lives in Maine who's expressed opposition to this sort of thing (along with Peter Straub when writing The Talisman), but that motherfucker forgot how to write about a decade ago...

A useful idea. Do it. But project the illusion of actually being interested in signing a kid up for this. And this won't work unless you have an adult voice. Prepare to get lied to.

Yeah, I'm about the most obvious sounding teenager ever.  Probably not gonna work for me :/.

I was thinking about saying stuff like "They're a real terror, you may need to beat them" and seeing what response you get.

Yup.  I constantly get mistaken for my mother and/or a professor/grad student.  Might be able to do something.

Sort of wondering if they can bring legal action for someone posing as an interested party who actually isn't, though =/

Excellent! I'd suggest preparing some answers if they ask you questions, stuff like "What does your teen do?" or "What's your annual income?" (remember, they charge 50,000$ a year per child, and seem to target 14-16 year olds). Recording it might help as well, especially in getting the media's attention.

If you're going to do non-consentual recordings, you'll probably want to find out the legalities of it in Maine and wherever you're at. I think some places have penalties for them.

No using. That's not what freedom is for.
