Maybe something eles like conventional punishment or those hardcore re-habs. Not this though.

Holy crap this is bad, and yet it's still around. What the hell? I just cannot express how much I am fucking disgusted by that shit. I wish I had the liberty to strangle the guy who made this so called "school." I mean seriously, who puts kids through this? I can think of a few things but still.

While I sympathize with playing devil's advocate how much does it matter if the treatment is effective if you're doing psychological damage to them in the process? Is even more indoctrination really the best way to fix delinquents?

Because it is easy to criticise but harder to come up with solutions.

I want a solution because removing the school and not substituting it with anything else will do more harm then good.

It is like shutting down a hospital that doesn't practice proper medicine in an area without any access.

If it just did outright harm then honestly I'd just go straight to the "Tear it down" side.

Emotional and phyiscal abuse can only help to make people mentally unstable, even if it "cures" their behavior issues. I'd rather have a host of these "out of control" individuals in my school than knowingly leave them in that hellhole.

That's kind of a bad metaphor, an inadequate hospital can actually increase the mortality rate because the spread of diseases to already weak people.

Or maybe it's a good metaphor, because maybe a lot of these kids are going to get out and be even worse for it. It's hard to know what the net benefit of something is, I'd like to see some figures.

But I'm not suggesting shutting it down immediately, what I'm suggesting is that the solution is a pretty piss poor one and it doesn't matter if it works on some of them, we need to come up with a better one.

I'd prefer the bad hospital. This isn't a school, this is a disguised torture facility. They get physically and mentally abused FOR YEARS, and the education is a joke. A horrible joke.
