Actually it isn't that a Kid has no rights

It is that the ability to CHOSE is put into the hands of an adult.

In otherwords it isn't that the child has no rights it is that an adult is allowed to decide if a child can practice them or not.

For example in Canada, at least, a paramedic is allowed to ignore a Child's plea not to be treated on. They cannot however do that for an adult.

Basically you have to break someone down first.

and there is NO way an adult would actually let someone do that stuff to them. (even harsh drug rehabs usually don't go quite this far.)

Who gives a shit!? This "school" is institutionalized abuse! Yeah, you know what, I'm sure it works, and works forever. That's because if you utterly break someone and build them up how you want them to be, it almost certainly will stick untill they die. Let me just say this: Everyone deserves legal and human rights, regardless of age.

EDIT: And for the record, adults do let people do this sort of stuff to them, if they feel trapped in a postion of inferiority.

I am just wondering how effective their treatments really are especially when compared to other alternatives such as Bootcamps (which are actually around just as bad)

While some of these children are there for rather innocent reasons, others really need something.

While I sympathize with playing devil's advocate how much does it matter if the treatment is effective if you're doing psychological damage to them in the process? Is even more indoctrination really the best way to fix delinquents?
