why for swearing? it makes sense if it was ridicuolous amounts, but just one time seems crazy.

That's an exaggeration, but one of them did do six months for making a Facebook group for making fun of a teacher.  Or longer, I forget exactly how often it happened, but juvenile courts have the authority to unilaterally extend sentences, with the crooked judge's permission, so a lot of them stayed a long time.

Remind me of that show where a Kid accidently, trying to slug a student, slugged a teacher in the face

The Kid narrates to the screen that if she struck her she would probably just get detention. But striking a teacher actually sent her to Juvies.

Personally I don't know why people are mad at Michael Moore

Frankly looking at modern documentary styles... Michael Moore is a bastion of truth by comparison

Every single documentary I see now... the world NEEDS to end somehow.

I don't know how much this corraborates anything, but this is about as specific as the school's pages get on their procedures:

Our School:
* Accepts adolescents with emotional, behavioral or adjustment problems
* Is a co-educational, independent, residential, special-purpose school, serving grades 8 through 12
* Uses a Life Skills Curriculum that teaches students to permanently change attitudes and life patterns
* Provides intensive group sessions; individual sessions are on an as-needed basis

EDIT:

Peer pressure and support teaches and enforces constructive behavior. Students learn that they must earn what they want and that they must give to receive. The peer-oriented social structure is vital to the Elan concept. Students learn to take direction, accept criticism without taking it personally, criticize constructively, give orders reasonably, and care for and work with others; they also learn that their self-esteem is not dependent upon the acceptance of others.

I actually feel more aligned with Michael Moore politically, but he's as much of a prick as the guys at Faux.

That's funny, last time I checked, the sixth amendment said nothing about age or being a legal adult:

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.
