How do I equip items?

How can I find a shop easily?

Anything else I should know about adventure mode? I have played Fortress mode since I got the game, this is my first real foray.

In the [m]ap there are little crosses, those are towns and shops are always located in towns, the  buildings are spaced pretty far apart keep in mind.

Also to equip armor go to the [w]ear menu, after [g]rabbing it from the ground, if you are wearing too much armor already you have to [r]emove some of it. To equip weapons you have to [d]rop whatever is in your hand that you want to remove (a shield for example) and pick the weapon up, you may have to arrange the picking of it up because it will mess up the keys for your targeting system.

Also trading is strange and you have to pick up the items you bought either before or after you purchase them, don't pick them up and walk out!

shops are "+" on the world map. And they are yellow blocks in the smaller scale travel map.

You equip items by picking them up when you have a free hand or "r"emoving them from a backpack.

Anything else you'll find out pretty easily from just playing. The new adventure mode is really Fun/fun

First adventurer won 3 battles, 2 with ambushes and the first, from a mission, to kill shadow men.

Then he was mobbed by 4 Bogeymen and killed. =(

11/10 adventurers die to a bogeyman their first time.

Only one sexual innuendo filled adventure mode thread allowed! Go back to that one!

What he said.

Anyways, next question.

Can you equip allies? If not, then where do you find the strongest allies?

No, you can't equip them, and they are all noobs at fighting.
You have to bring them into combat to train them, the best you can do is find a swordsman or *some*man with a weapon.

Probably the best way to train the soldiers is to go into the wild and chase down a small animal like a groundhog and grapple it. It can't move when grappled and can't break your hold on it. Your companions will train up their skills butchering it.

Companions are mainly meat shields and they have strength in numbers.

Well, your fame is abstract. You'll hear people react to you based on how famous you are and how they react is how many people you can get. Maximum of 19 companions however.
