If you're going ok to my comment on the same magma, I just found it sweet. This architect still bringing them food, despite they're dead. It seemed kinda sad and it made me imagine this big shot, the fortress architect, with no real friend except this one slave.

Are the children of the same race, or even same caste as the owner? As a general rule, making a pet/civilized race can have really strange results.
