Welcome to the court room. Here, many things happen. People come in suspects, and leave a criminal or an innocent. The lawyers state their cases, and the jury decides their votes based most likely on what has been said.
There will be a judge(Currently me, will probably pass on later), two lawyers, and a jury. The jury can have any odd number of people.
Judge - Comes up with the crime and acts as all NPCs.
Lawyer - Comes up with arguments on whether or not a certain person is guilty.
Jury - Votes on whether or not the same person mentioned above is guilty.
At the start, after all roles have been decided, the Judge comes up with a story, and a suspect. The lawyers then take turns questioning the suspect and calling people (that the judge will list at the end of the crime) to the stand to talk and answer questions.
After both lawyers have ended their arguments completely, the jury gets to make the final vote. They will all send the judge(via PM) whether the suspect is guilty or innocent.
After the votes are tallied, the judge tells everyone the result. Everyone in the jury will gain 1 point, the losing lawyer 2, and the winning lawyer 5. Score will be kept in the SP. Whatever the jury decides on will be correct. If they said someone was guilty, it will turn out to be correct. If they said they were innocent, they will turn out to be correct.
If the suspect turns out innocent, the crime is looked over and it is decided nothing happened. The only suspect is the one in court. It will be like nothing ever happened if they turn out innocent.
Lawyers may only call one person to talk each turn. Their turns can take as long as they can keep coming up with responses. However, if they pressure the person too much with their questions, they may decide to run away or stop answering questions.
The jury can jump in at any time and make statements or questions, but these do not have to be answered. The only ones needed to be answered are the lawyer’s.
To be a lawyer, you must have been part of the jury in the previous round. This does not apply for the first round, of course.
I would like people to be serious. Don’t join as jury and decided in the end to vote guilty because you just want them to be. I will probably ask your reason for the vote when we get there.
So, if you have any questions(I doubt there won’t be), just ask here. You can also join as a lawyer(only two. also need to include if you want to prove guilty or innocent.) or part of the jury right now. I’ll close the round signups in a day or two.
